Clouds
in The sky
|
1. Wet paper with clean water, complete steps 2 - 4 before it dries 2. Paint the sky between the clouds with Ultramarine. Larger clouds overhead, smaller ones in the distance or close to the horizon. Sky tone will also be lighter as it nears the horizon. 3. Paint cloud shadows with a mix of Ultramarine and Light Red, again shadow tones will fade as they near the horizon 4. Let page dry 5. Paint in the mountains with a light mix of Ultramarine and Light Red and allow to dry 6. Paint in the tree foliage with a mix of Cadmium Yellow and Ultramarine and allow to dry 7. Lightly sketch in the gable and visible parts of the cottage 8. Paint in the grassy foreground with a mix of Cadmium Yellow and Ultramarine and allow to dry 9. Paint in the tree trunk, branches and fence posts with a loose mix of Burnt umber and Ultramarine 10. Mix Burnt umber and Ultramarine to form a black and paint in roof, door and windows 11. Add shadows to tree and foreground elements by increasing tones not forgetting of the direction of the light. |
